Meet the Principal of Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools-Middle
Magnet Middle Community,
I am humbled and honored to continue to serve as the principal of Tuscaloosa Magnet Schools - Middle. I am one of the founding faculty members where I served as the counselor for 8 years before leaving to begin my administration journey. Returning to TMSM has been extremely rewarding. This is the start of my 20th year in education, and I am just as excited as I was my first year in the classroom. Except for my first year, I have spent my entire career in middle school and all of them in Tuscaloosa City Schools.
The middle years are some of the most important and critical times for students. Students are at the center of our work, and we work diligently to meet the needs of the whole child. Our focus is to build a culture of high expectations for all students by meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs through high-quality instruction, innovation, and wrap-around services. As an International Baccalaureate school, we aim to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
